The bilingual approach

A natural approach to the English language. Ideal to make initial contact. A bilingual camp for the little ones with Spanish and native English camp leaders. Each day, half of the activities will be carried out in English and the other half in Spanish. Daily routine moments are bilingual, carried out in both languages, given that both Spanish and non-Spanish camp leaders are in charge during these moments.

FUN SWEET FARM

WEEKS JUNE, 4 AND 8

This week is proposed as a first approach of the children to the activities of a farm, giving priority to the care, cleaning, maintenance and feeding of the animals. During all these years of Day Camp, the children have shown us a special interest in this type of activity, asking with great enthusiasm to visit the rodents, horses, goats, etc., and feed them. In order to achieve a week of total immersion in nature, the children will enjoy the following activities:

  • Feeding and care of farm animals.
  • Garden foods.
  • Path along the Jarama river.
  • Traditional games.
  • Craft workshops.
  • Multi-adventure activities.

LAND ART

WEEKS 1 AND 5

At CEI El Jarama we believe that connecting with nature is essential to nourish people’s creativity, inspiration and well-being.

Nature, with its shapes, colors and textures, provides an endless source of inspiration, so, in this land art camp we will take advantage of this resource by promoting the creativity of the children, stimulating the exploration of new forms of artistic expression.

Our artists will combine their work with sports and multi-adventure activities. And like every year, they will also enjoy taking care of the farm animals (cows, goats, sheep, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds).

After all this activity, you will also enjoy a little time in the pool daily!

I WANT TO BE A FARMER

WEEKS 2 AND 6

We want to teach children about a way of life different from their daily reality today. Our goal is to teach them how our ancestors lived, when there were no shopping centres, television, or new technologies. We travel back to the farms our grandparents knew, to rural areas where there were no buses or subways.

Children will learn how to manage natural resources, the importance of protecting the environment, and how to achieve sustainable development.

  • Feeding and taking care of all our animals.
  • Milking.
  • Horseback riding.
  • Food workshops: cookies, cheese, butter, bread …
  • Working with wool.
  • Traditional games.
  • Caring for, irrigating and harvesting products from the garden.
  • Agricultural tasks. (We sow, tend the garden, and harvest).
  • We become farmers (shepherding, brushing horses, collecting eggs, milking, feeding farm animals, cleaning stables and cages etc.)
  • Food transformation.

PIRATES ADVENTURE

WEEKS 3 AND 7

We will enter an amazing world, we will become adventurous pirates, we will sail the waters of the river Jarama, we will experience great emotions, we will sail to unknown places, we will climb, shoot our arrows, ride our horses, and more and more adventures. And of course, we will find our treasure!! Who dares??

  • Making our pirate flag.
  • Archery.
  • Making a spyglass, an eyepatch..
  • Horse back riding.
  • River hike.
  • Canoeing in the river.
  • Swimming pool.
  • Treasure hunt!!

What do families think of us?

5/5
«Oe escribo en este último día de Camp Day de mis hijas Marta e Inés para comentar que han venido encantadas y felices de todo lo están haciendo. Lo de inglés, genial y me dicen que hablan mucho en inglés y en algún caso un poco de español, jajaja. Respecto a la comida, me dicen que riquísima, veremos a ver cómo lo hago ahora en casa que yo no soy muy buena cocinera, me habéis puesto el listón muy alto. Uffff. Nos vemos el próximo año seguro»

«Mariola, gracias, gracias y mil gracias.
