Summer camps
for kids in Spain

The aim of the Naturaleza en Vivo 2024 summer camp is for children to develop their personalities and cultivate values like solidarity, responsibility, and understanding, all while they learn and fully enjoy nature.

Designed and supervised by counsellors specialised in different areas of the outdoors: biologists, ornithologists, beekeepers, artists, teachers and other professionals who, through their applied knowledge, will instil in campers a healthy curiosity and deep respect for the preservation of nature.

General activities

The activities described below will bring the children closer to the world of nature and crafts, which will allow them to understand the world from a different perspective. These activities will take place over two weeks.

HORSEBACK RIDING AND STABLES

Kids will enjoy a riding session, where they learn the basics of horse handling and care to then go into the stables to learn about the life of these animals, participating in tasks such as washing, brushing and giving a refreshing shower to the horses and donkeys. They will also collaborate in the maintenance of the stables, cleaning and organizing them, learning about responsibility and respect for the animals.

TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES: LIQUID SOAP

Participants will discover the fascinating process of making liquid soap by hand. They will learn about the natural and sustainable ingredients needed, such as oils, water and soda, and understand how the chemical reactions behind its creation work. Each participant will make their own liquid soap with personalized scents using natural essences and take it home as a souvenir.

TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES: LOOMS

Campers will delve into the art of looms, learning how our ancestors wove their own fabrics in an artisanal way. They will learn about the wool process and discover the basic tools and natural materials they used to work and dye the wool. Each child will design and weave a small tapestry adapted to his/her age, taking home a unique sample of this traditional craft.

ROPEWORK AND ITS USES

They will learn the art of rope making, discovering the importance of knots and their application in daily life and rural activities. Campers will explore different types of ropes and practice basic knots adapted to each group and will use the knots learned in practical exercises such as securing objects and creating crafts.

SHELTER CONSTRUCTION

Kids will build a shelter using natural and recycled materials. They will work as a team to design and assemble a safe structure, using branches, leaves and rope, and will explore basic sustainable construction techniques, reflecting on how these types of shelters have been essential for people in contact with nature throughout history. An activity that combines creativity, teamwork and connection with the environment!

TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES: JAM

Campers will discover the art of making jam the traditional way, using seasonal fruits and techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. They will learn how to select the best fruits, how to simmer them and how to add the sugar to get the perfect jam. The children will participate in the whole process, from peeling the fruit to packaging, and will take home a jar of their own creation. Delicious!

All activities take place within our center in Talamanca de Jarama, Madrid, which covers 120,000 m² on the banks of the Jarama River.

We have carefully chosen a variety of activities that complement each other and further the student’s integral development, alternating between fun ones and those that require students to make a greater effort to improve.

In addition to the specific Nature Activities described before, at the Jarama Nature camp, children can enjoy lots of different activities, in nature and on the farm!

They will be able to enjoy and learn about farm animal care and products, such as the cow and the milking process, poultry, chicken and eggs, beekeeping and the sheep and the wool process, in addition to the agricultural work of the rural world.

These activities offer fun and give children the opportunity to learn about life on the farm, the importance of sustainable agriculture and respect for nature.

DAILY EXERCISE
WE NEED IT

The importance of movement, exercise and sports leads us to dedicate time daily to different team sports and games of different characteristics.

DAILY SWIMMING
Every day we will have a good time in the pool, with free play and fun-filled synchronised swimming tournaments!

HORSEBACK RIDING
All the kids will participate in 3 horseback riding sessions. An introduction, a practice session in the ring, and a ride.

SPORTS
Water polo, baseball, ball-less football, basketball and football tournaments will be organised, among other sports.

GAMES
Games will be part of every day at camp! Cooperative and traditional games, parachute games, speed cups, water gymkhanas, body painting, and many more!

WE LOVE CHALLENGES
INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP

Multi-adventure activities are always very popular amongst children. These are ideal challenges to test and improve their skills and physical abilities, and their desire to excel, while strengthening both personal independence and teamwork too. They are ideal for shots of adrenaline and raising self-esteem.

During the camp the children can enjoy a variety of multi-adventure activities, surrounded by nature, which also means being immersed in it, learning about it, and respecting it.

TIBETAN BRIDGE, ARCHERY, INDOOR CLIMBING WALL, ZIPLINE, AND CANOES ON THE RIVER JARAMA!

FORGING FRIENDSHIPS
MAGICAL MOMENTS AT OUR NIGHTTIME GATHERINGS

Evening events full of action and movement. Night-time games are a very important part of the programme. Children not only give free rein to their imaginations, and overcome their fear of the dark, but this is also a time that brings the group together. Campers help each other, older kids aiding younger ones, as they work as a team, support each other, and above all, have fun. This is an essential aspect of our summer camps for children, before relaxing and going to sleep.

Some of these events are even organised by the campers themselves!

THE FAIR
Each counsellor creates an attraction or game, and builds it so that the rest of the children enjoy it. In turn, they enjoy the attractions and games that their counterparts created during the day. They can earn “coins” to exchange for treats and juice!

HAUNTED HOUSE (HOUSE/MUSEUM FOR THE YOUNGEST CAMPERS)
The older campers prepare a spooky Haunted House! They spend all day working on it, creating a story, its characters, props, decorations, and everything involved in creating a haunted passage to receive the other campers on the night of the Fair. A fantastically frightening time!

THE CASINO
A group of “almost big kids” prepares a night of games, betting and fun, at the Casino. They take care of everything! Roulette, blackjack, card games, and many other casino games for children to enjoy.

HOLLYWOOD NIGHT
The most eagerly awaited night ? The evening when many budding artists make their debuts. For days, each working group combines its strengths and exercises all its creativity to produce the very best performance it can. Some sing, others dance, some act out small plays, others juggle… all these talents shine on this night of Stars! Here you can see some of the most creative examples from this night.

MOVIE NIGHT
What better way to relax after a day out on an excursion than to put on your pyjamas and watch a movie?

A FAREWELL PARTY, WITH A SPECIAL DINNER AND DISCO!!
The camp comes to a close, and we want to go out on a high note! On the last night of camp we throw a party on which we have hamburgers with French fries and our waiters, the counsellors, put on their traditional farewell show for us. Don’t miss any of them; click here!

TIROLINAS GO!

Midway through the fortnight, we’ll enjoy an incredible day at an exciting adventure park where heights and fun take center stage. Nets, hanging bridges, and ziplines among the trees await us for a unique day filled with adrenaline, challenges, and laughter.

*Excursions are available exclusively for 2 week camps.

«Un gran acierto!!! Era el primer campamento de nuestro hijo de 8 años y no podemos estar más satisfechos de lo contento y emocionado que llego. Le apuntamos a el solo sin conocer a ningún niñ@ y siendo la primera vez que quedaba tantos días fuera de casa a dormir, pero no fue un impedimento para conocer a nuevos amigos y pasarlo a lo grande. Enhorabuena al equipo de profesionales que estáis con ellos porque todo ha sido Gracias a vosotros. Repetiremos seguro!!!!»
